US federal law doesn't require private companies to give paid holidays. Most still observe the big ones (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas), but the exact list is your company's choice. Write it down in your leave policy so everyone knows.
The weekend rule
When a federal holiday falls on a Saturday, the day off moves to the Friday before. When it falls on a Sunday, it moves to the Monday after. In 2027 this affects Juneteenth, Independence Day, Christmas and New Year's Day 2028.
