Private sector vs. government
Private-sector employees get 4 days for each Eid. Government employees usually get longer Eid breaks, and banks follow their own schedule set by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).
Weekend is Friday and Saturday
Most companies rest on Friday and Saturday. If Founding Day or National Day falls on a weekend, employees get the day before or after off instead.
Ramadan working hours
During Ramadan (expected to start around 8 February 2027), working hours for Muslim employees are reduced to a maximum of 6 hours a day.
Not a day off
Saudi Flag Day (11 March) is a national observance, not a public holiday.
